Lower East Side Printshop, a non-profit open-access printmaking studio in New York City, seeks a highly motivated part-time Administrative Assistant. Position oversees office organization for the dynamic non-profit and provides a wide range of support to the Administrative and Studio staff. Responsibilities include office reception and screening; information management and communication with clients; office supply and system management; calendar and scheduling, contacts database management; registrar for classes and studio rental; programs and artist file organization and maintenance; light bookkeeping; assistance and attendance at organization’s functions and public events; supervising interns. Opportunity for growth in arts administration and non-profit management.
Qualifications: Two or more years in a similar position. Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects under strict deadlines. Detail-oriented. Professional phone and email manner, and client service skills. Upbeat, flexible and self-motivated. Knowledge and/or strong interest in the visual arts and/or printmaking field helpful. Best candidates would be comfortable with working in a team environment in a support role with multiple supervisors as well as have the ability to work effectively without supervision.
Technical skill requirements: proficiency in MAC OS X, Microsoft Word, Excel, File Maker Pro, Adobe Photoshop, and Internet research are a must.
