JOB DESCRIPTION
- Work closely with Artistic Director to develop the exhibition structure and organization, including research, implementation, installation and other curatorial initiatives and programs
- General and detailed research on artists and themes under consideration: managing large numbers of portfolios, requests of materials, organization of archive, studio visits, travel schedules
- Manage all aspects of exhibition implementation including artist liaison, project development, production management, initial loan administration and initial shipping logistics
- Coordinate and oversee all aspects of exhibition installation in collaboration with exhibition architect and Biennial team
- Work closely with Biennial local team on development of the exhibition
- Work closely and collaborate with Biennial local team on installation schedule, artists agreements and implementation of artists projects and of exhibition
- Manage artists projects and project installation budget
- Research, coordinate and produce related interpretive materials and publications
- Facilitate and assist with production of exhibition catalogue
- Manage staff of New York interns, assistants, and researchers
- MA in Art History, Museum Studies, or equivalent (Preferred);
- Two years museum, gallery, festival, art-fair or equivalent management experience;
- Excellent organizational, planning and trouble-shooting skills;
- Good knowledge of international art world;
- Excellent communication and writing skills;
- Confident at dealing with high-level contacts;
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize a busy workload;
- Diplomatic attitude and ability to negotiate between several different parties;
- Computer literate, with experience working on Excel and databases
- Foreign Languages, Italian preferred
