Artist/Illustrator, Run. Catch. Kill. - New York, NY

Payment is on a lo/no/deferred basis.

Looking for a serious/professional illustrator to contribute comic-style drawings as a part of a short film I’m producing. It’s a horror-comedy but the tone is actually very dark & very sexy – maybe even campy.

Here’s a link to the teaser reel, to judge for yourself:
http://www.funnyordie.com/videos/535f14de1b/trailer-for-upcoming-project-titled-run-catch-kill Feel free to give us your support with a "funny" vote if you're so inclined... Please submit links/samples of work if you truly believe your “style” or abilities can fit in with that footage. It’s shaping up to be a relatively unique project and these illustrations would be used throughout the story – possibly needing somewhere between 10-15 images. For the project, we will need character types that resemble hot/sexy women, the masked attacker & the Reporter, among others, so the artist should really have a strong grasp of the human figure. Looking for current comic book style artwork, but will also consider submissions from anime-type artists. The project is low-budget in nature, but I have paid my entire cast & crew for their talents & efforts, so there is a fair dollar amount we can discuss for your participation. Thanks for your interest.

Dissection and Lecture with David Klass

Dissection and lecture with David Klass at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, UMDNJ, 185 S. Orange Ave, Newark, NJ 07103. It is twelve miles from New York City and generally reached by taking the PATH train to Penn Station in Newark and then Public Transit bus #31. It should take about 1-1/2 hours.

The class will be Tuesday, March 20th, 12pm-4pm.

There will be a body that has been skinned exclusively for Academy use by the school’s mortician who has previously prepared a number of cadavers for the Academy.

The body will be suspended vertically for the lecture and then left up for sketching and drawing. NO PHOTOS ARE PERMITTED! During the third sequence the body will be placed on a table and will be available for hands on dissection and probing.

The donors are older people who have died in the hospital. They prefer to use older people who have died of natural causes to insure there is no communicable disease. They have all been released by the mortician and are safe. Ideally a nice robust 40 or 50 year old person would be great; however, that is not available. It is an amazing learning experience peering beneath the surface to see muscles, tendons, ligaments and other structures, to see what they really look like, not just to reinterpret an anatomy book but to do your own observations.

A $50 deposit is due by Tuesday March 6th.  The final payment of $100 is due Tuesday March 13th.  Both payments should be submitted to Heidi Elbers – helbers@nyaa.edu 212.966.0300 x971.  There are only 20 spots still available. Hurry and turn in your deposit! You don’t want to miss this great opportunity!!
