2013-2014 Visual Arts Fellowship - The Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown

Applications for the 2013-2014 Visual Arts Fellowship must be completed and submitted electronically on or before 11:59 pm February 1, 2013. The application fee is $57. All applications must be submitted online. To submit your application, go to http://fawc.slideroom.com. Applications will be available by November 15th, 2012.

Fellowship
The Fine Arts Work Center provides seven-month Fellowships to ten emerging artists and ten emerging writers each year from Oct.1 through April 30. Visual Arts Fellows are provided with a private, furnished apartment, a separate work studio of approximately 400 sq ft and a monthly stipend of $750. Artist Residency - Fellowships Available

Contemporary Artists Center (TROY NY)

The Contemporary Artists Center has recently opened its newest residency program on the campus of the Woodside National Historic Register Site in Troy, NY. Two neo-gothic stone church buildings now house our artist program and welcome artists from all over the U.S. and abroad.
The CAC is located 2.5 hours north of NYC, and is currently accepting applications for the Spring 2013 season.

DEADLINE February 1

The CAC focuses on emerging and early career artists and accepts applicants who offer quality in their art and encourages diversity of style, medium (2-D, 3-D, 4-D) and concepts.

Our facility features high-ceiling, adaptable studio space open 24 hours a day with some specialized studio facilities, possible exhibition opportunities, weekly critiques, and weekly outings. The living area includes lofted bedrooms, living room / library, dining room, and kitchen & bath.

The residency program offers artists the time and support to create new work and fosters an environment that encourages creativity, dialog, and experimentation

Fellowships available. All residency artists receive some level of financial assistance.

Call for Proposals - 2013/2014 Exhibition Season

NURTUREart is currently accepting curatorial proposals from emerging curators and solo exhibition proposals from emerging artists.

Guidelines with full information on how to send your proposal and a gallery floor plan are available for download through the link to NURTUREart's website.

Postmarked Deadline: February, 28, 2013.

All proposals will have to be postmarked to (or before) this date to be accepted and advanced to the selection process.

A panel of respected curators, artists and gallerists will evaluate your proposal and determine who the winners will be. We do this to make sure that as many different voices and points of view are considered, and to give emerging artists and curators the chance to present their work to the attention of indisputable experts in the field.

Past members of our selection panels have included: Jose Ruiz, Raul Zamudio, David Cohen, Cornell DeWitt, Paddy Johnson, Lisa Schroeder, George Adams, Wallace Whitney, Jackie Battenfield, Summer Guthery, Kevin Reagan, Omar Lopez-Chahoud, B. Wurtz, Ajay Kurian, Ingrid Bromberg-Kennedy.

Closer to the deadline, we will host a Curatorial Workshop, to give you the chance of showing us your curatorial proposal and offer meaningful feedback BEFORE you send your application. Stay tuned for more details on that initiative.

Creative Residency at PlatteForum

The PlatteForum Creative Residencies (artist-in-residence program) provide artists the time, space, and support to create work and share their creative process with underserved youth and the larger community. Located in a vibrant downtown mixed-use neighborhood, PlatteForum is within easy access of light rail and other public transportation, Commons Park, the Platte River, the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver, and residential and retail complexes. The contemporary facility is over 3,000 square feet plus an outdoor courtyard with a 2,000 square-foot open studio surrounded by staff offices, kitchen and artist space. The Art + Commerce Image Archive is seeking a Director of Sales to lead its sales and operational initiatives and team of licensing agents. Candidates will be responsible for identifying new clients and opportunities, prospecting, pursuing leads, developing new meaningful client relationships while strengthening existing client relationships. Applicants must be organized and well spoken with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities:
• Effectively and aggressively manage all aspects of sales for the Image Archive and Art + Commerce.
• Define and execute short and long term sales strategy and goals for the Image Archive and other departments, ensuring solid growth in sales.
• Develop, maintain and retain client relationships to ultimately drive revenue growth.
• Be the driving force behind the strategic sales growth for the Image Archive.
• Identify potential new revenue channels, targeting appropriate clients and closing meaningful deals.
• Conceive and execute thoughtful retail partnerships and collaborative strategies with new clients as well as existing clients.
• Work closely with company management to realize the overall direction of the business and implement brand growth that can be nurtured and grown.


Qualifications:
• Proven track record with 5-10 years of media, publication, advertising or licensing sales experience.
• Exceptional artist relations skills.
• Should have a solid understanding of the image, motion, and digital licensing industry.
• Good analytical skills in both understanding marketers’ objectives and campaign performance.
• Strong understanding of the fashion and beauty industries will be preferred.

Call for Entries - Lower East Side Printshop - New York, NY

Keyholder Residency Program

Lower East Side Printshop, New York, offers FREE year-long studio residencies for emerging artists. The application deadline is March 1, 2013 for residencies starting on April 1, 2013. The Keyholder Residency includes free 24/7 access to a large shared studio with printmaking facilities, $1,000 stipend, storage space and basic supplies, exhibition opportunities, educational programming, and support services. Artists from all disciplines are eligible: printmaking skills are recommended but not required, and basic instruction in printmaking and some Master Printer assistance is available at no cost.

Sculpture Painting - Masker with airbrush experience

Seeking detail oriented studio assistant to work full time with leading contemporary artist in a demanding atmosphere. Work entails finishing 3-dimensional aluminum sculptures with industrial paint systems. Position requires intricate masking, surface preparation, and small scale airbrushing. Airbrush experience is highly preferred but not absolutely necessary. Seeking detail-oriented sculptor with extensive fine wood-carving experience for full-time employment with leading contemporary artist Jeff Koons in a demanding studio atmosphere. Wood work entails highly detailed carving and sharpening of details, with meticulous attention to replicating an original object from photographs. Experience with a wide range of wood carving hand tools is required. Additional sculpting work entails hand-finishing aluminum and bronze sculptures to a high level of detail with industrial paint systems. Surface preparation and metal-finishing experience is desirable. Must have realistic, figurative skills and a strong sensitivity to form and detail.
