Arts Administration Internship at New York Academy of Art

The Internship in Arts Administration provides experience and learning opportunities to a student interested in pursuing a career in an institution of higher education specific to the fine arts. Working closely with professional staff at the Academy, interns participate in the ongoing work of the MFA and Continuing Education departments. Tasks will include projects to support the Visiting Critics program and the Art & Culture Lecture Series, as well as registration database entry, note-taking, organization of files and calendars, and other administrative/office-based duties as assigned. In addition, the intern will also have the opportunity to attend various workshops, talks and special events. The internship is unpaid, but academic credit and letters of recommendation can be arranged with a college or university upon completion of the internship.

Consideration will be given to currently enrolled students or recent graduates from an undergraduate program with a BA or BFA degree.

Flexible start date, preferably mid-August. Duration of internship is negotiable with a minimum of a two-month commitment. The candidate should be available 2 or 3 days a week from 10 – 5pm.
