The AAF/Seebacher Prize for Fine Arts

Each year, The AAF/Seebacher Prize for Fine Arts (formerly The Daisy Soros Prize and The Hayward Prize) offers US fine arts graduate students, or those who have completed their graduate studies within the past two years, the opportunity to study at the International Summer Academy of Fine Arts Salzburg in Austria. Founded in 1953 by world-famous painter Oskar Kokoschka, the International Summer Academy offers an unrivalled environment, with work sites at the Hohensalzburg Fortress and the Old Salt Factory on Perner Insel (Island) on the Salzach River.  This particular international experience gives young artists not only the opportunity to study with well-known and respected international artists from around the world, but also the chance to immerse themselves in a program that is both rich in cultural tradition and academically challenging. Please visit their website for additional information on the Academy and its programs.  Questions may be emailed to the AAF at: finearts.prize@americanaustrianfoundation.org
The postmark deadline for applications is: April 20, 2015.

Rise Art - Open Call

Rise Art is a social community for artists to build a dedicated following around their practice, while collectors to view and collect that work.
We are now accepting submissions to become one of our featured artists - including the opportunity to exhibit and sell your work online, in London and the USA.  Interested artists can participate free of charge at: www.riseart.com/art/submit.
The rolling submission is open to all contemporary artists.  Submit your artwork directly to the website and then engage directly with the Rise Art community and collector base.  Rise Art provides social tools, event listings, and interactive features that can drive your awareness and support your practice.
Each month, the Rise Art Insiders select artists across the site to have their work featured and sold on the platform.  Artists’ works are sold and promoted alongside established artists including Bruce McLean, Tracey Emin, Gavin Turk and Sir Peter Blake amongst others. Featured artists are also supported in exhibitions and commissioned for art projects and installations.
Designed to showcase, rent and sell great contemporary art from both established artists and emerging talents, riseart.com enables art lovers to find and buy artworks they love, discover new artists and obtain personalised recommendations from art insiders.

Call for Armory Volunteers

The Hort Family will be opening up their home in Tribeca again this year during Armory Arts Week, providing a rare glimpse into one of New York's most exciting private collections of contemporary art.

We are looking for volunteers to help for both the exclusive Friday night (March 6th) preview as well as the Sunday Brunch (March 8th), where the Rema Hort Mann Foundation will also be open to Armory VIP pass holders, accompanied by bagels and coffee at Taymour Grahne Gallery next door.

Friday March 6, 2015 from 6.30 - 9.00 pm, call time is 6.00 pm.
Sunday March 8, 2015 from 9.30 - 1.00 pm, call time is 9.15 am.

Volunteers will be asked to perform a number of duties, including greeting guests, managing guest lists, checking coats, monitoring gallery spaces, and ushering guests between upstair and downstairs areas of the Hort's home.

Please note, we have a few dedicated coat check positions available that we will be offering as paid. Please let us know if you are interested in one of these positions.

This is a wonderful opportunity to view the newly installed Hort Family Collection, representing some of their most recent acquisitions, and all proceeds from the events will go toward supporting the Rema Hort Mann Foundation.

If you are interested or have any questions, please contact us at info@rhmfoundation.org. Please specify that you would like to volunteer on Friday, Sunday, or both, and note if you wish to work coat check. Please let us know if you have any friends who would like to volunteer as well!
