Dissection and lecture with David Klass at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, UMDNJ, 185 S. Orange Ave, Newark, NJ 07103. It is 12 mi from New York City. It is generally reached by taking the PATH train to Penn Station in Newark and then a Public Transit bus. It should take about 1-1/2 hrs.

There will be a body that has been skinned exclusively for Academy use by the schools mortician who has prepared a number of cadavers for us previously.
The body will be suspended vertically for the lecture and then left up for sketching and drawing. NO PHOTOS ARE PERMITTED! During the third sequence the body will be placed on a table and will be available for hands on dissection and probing.
The donors are older people who have died in the hospital. They prefer to use older persons who have died of natural causes to insure there is no communicable disease. They have all been released by the mortician and are safe. Ideally a nice robust 40 or 50 year old person would be great, however that is not available. It is an amazing learning experience peering beneath the surface to see muscles, tendons, ligaments and other structures, to see what they really look like, not just to reinterpret an anatomy book, but to do your own observations.
